Yukon Canoe Trekking Day 5

,

Goal today was to pass the “village” of Little Salmon and find a nice, last camp just before Carmacks. Like Big Salmon, Little Salmon was a former gold rush village – but unlike Big Salmon, First Nation people got into the village, when the white settlers left. Today, only two old buildings can be found. There where other buildings from First Nation people, including a graveyard. But to our surprise nobody was here… it was like a ghost town or a vacation village off-season.

Just shortly after Little Salmon we found a nice camp to spend the night. Today we paddled 50 km during 4.5 hours (average speed of 11 km/h).
