Yukon Canoe Trekking Day 3

,

Almost done! 8km were left this morning for finishing the strenuous paddling over Lake Laberge. After a little bit more than an hour, we finally got to the end of the lake where we stopped and ate something for lunch.

Leaving the lake behind us, we entered the most beautiful and a quite fast section of the river. After 6.5 hours we already paddled 61 km and stopped at a “place” called Hootalinqua. Without aiming for it, we landed on an island which was a former shipyard to repair streamers a 100 years ago. One of those unrepaired streamers was left on the island – Norcom (more infos). We set up our camp and enjoyed the rest of the evening in this special environment.
